In that case, Zongteng can provide them with their GoTech platform. This consists of a vast database of carefully selected and curated products.
Another relevant solution is their YunFulfillment which allows its customers to outsource their e-commerce order fulfillment, saving them a great deal of time, money, and effort in the process while allowing them to focus on growing their business.
From zero to hero
The policy change of postal administrative procedures in 2018 led to an increase in service cost, making traditional postal methods in the Nordic markets prohibitively expensive. This created opportunities for newcomers to break into the market especially tailored logistics solutions for e-commerce businesses.
YunExpress seized this opportunity by kicking off its Nordic operations in Sweden in 2018 and expanding to the Finnish market in 2020. This past summer, they established a brand new regional processing center in Sweden and local transfer hubs in Finland as part of their strategic growth plans in the Nordic region.
YunExpress Finland General Manager Ms. Liping Fu was first introduced to one of Helsinki Business Hub’s (HBH) business advisors, Xin Wang, through a mutual friend. When YunExpress expanded to Finland, it received assistance from Business Finland (Invest in Finland) and Turku Science Park. Ms. Liping Fu was pleasantly surprised by the outstanding service provided by HBH and Business Finland, especially since it was offered free of charge.
In the promising yet very competitive e-commerce logistics sector, YunExpress is confident they can now distinguish themself in Finland thanks to their comprehensive transport system and reliable services.
The shortest distance
Finland’s promiximity to China – 5,957 km means it is the closest EU country – and Russia, a vast market makes it the ideal geographic location for YunExpress. Moreover, Pre-Covid, Finnair operated six intercontinental flights to China, making them a great resource in the logistics journey between China and Europe.
Finnish-made products are highly reputed, most noticeably in markets outside Europe such as China and Southeast Asia, due to their exceptionally high quality and design.
YunExpress has the experience and infrastructure to help Nordic e-commerce sellers to expand their international influence to Asia.
With their extensive network of truck routes in 30+ European countries, including the Nordic region, YunExpress is well placed to provide comprehensive and speedy logistics services throughout Europe and beyond.
This makes YunExpress’s entry into the Nordic market a win-win situation for local consumers and cross-border e-commerce sellers alike.
E-commerce booming in Europe & Nordics
E-commerce is the fastest-growing segment of the retail market in Europe. According to Statista, digital commerce revenue in the Nordic countries grew by roughly 50 percent between late 2019-2020. While a recent study by PostNord shows that Nordic e-shoppers are among the highest spenders in Western Europe.
Finland has enormous potential in the cross-border e-commerce and logistics industry. Due to the tremendous internet penetration rate, 95% of the entire population are internet users (World Bank, 2019), and 79% are e-shoppers (Ecommerce Europe, 2019); the Nordic countries rank top in the e-commerce development indices.
The high local price level and purchasing power indicate that Finland is an ideal market for imports, bringing substantial price advantages and leading to quick take up in the e-commerce market.
“Finland has enormous potential in the cross-border e-commerce industry due to high internet penetration rate. Every single person who has the right to buy online has done it at least once,” Ms. Fu says.
In 2022, the company aims to recruit ten people for warehouse, marketing, business development, and customer service positions. In addition, it seeks to further expand its advantages in cost efficiency and timely delivery.
