Volvo Finland Ab will establish new premises in Viinikkala, Vantaa. The new premises will house Volvo Group Truck Center’s and Bus Center’s sales and maintenance facilities and maintenance school.
The construction of the premises in Finland’s largest logistics area will begin this spring and is scheduled to be completed in autumn 2016. The new location will offer truck and bus maintenance, repair and sales services and provide training for service mechanics as well as professional qualification training for drivers.
According to Volvo, the investment is part of systematic efforts to develop the Finnish network.
— Volvo Finland Ab is committed to being a key actor in Finnish society. We have chosen the Finnish company EKE as our partner to be in charge of constructing the new facilities for our 220 professionals. This investment will cement our position as the best business and co-operation partner for our customers. We believe strongly in our sector – the mobility of people and goods in Finland will continue to be based on rubber wheels, as it is the most efficient option, says Volvo Finland Ab’s Managing Director Magnus Björklund.
According to Björklund, the new facilities will employ approximately 220 people, which is 30 more than today.
— The actual engineering and construction of the facilities will provide employment right from the start of the project, requiring a total of around 300 person-years of labour, Björklund points out.
Part of the Volvo Group, Volvo Finland Ab represents Volvo trucks and buses as well as Renault trucks in Finland. Volvo has operated in Finland since 1928. Over the past ten years, the company has invested in its network in Finland, for instance by opening up new locations in Lieto, Kotka, Pori and Tampere.
