Three healthcare technology companies won awards at the MedTech Nordic Investing and Partnering event held on 3 September 2013 in Helsinki, Finland.
The MedTech Nordic Growth Award went to Finland’s Optomeditech Oy. Espoo-based company has developed a laser-based technology for the insertion of intravenous catheters. Optomeditech’s innovation solves a clear, unmet medical need with large market potential. The award was granted by the MedTech Nordic Growth jury which comprised members from each of the co-organizing countries: Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
Denmark’s TKS Technology A/S won the Clinica Award for developing a technology which enables severely paralyzed people to control equipment and systems wirelessly, using the tongue.
Helsinki-based Onbone Oy, the developer of new ecological casting solution for fractures, using wood composite, received the MediAward. Onbone’s new material modernizes the care of bone fractures, eases the work of the clinical staff and improves the quality of care.
