(GoodNewsFinland) Finnish companies were showered with awards at the Global Cleantech Cluster Association’s Later Stage Award competition held in the United States. The Switch came first in the Wind Energy category, while Eniram won in Transportation.
Finland achieved second place overall in the country competition with its two category wins. First place went to the United States, which won in three categories. Three Finnish cleantech companies made it into the final 30.
The Switch has managed to rise to the top of its field globally. The company manufactures permanent magnet generators and full-power converters for wind and solar power applications. Eniram develops systems that minimise the fuel consumption and emissions of ships and is one of the fastest growing companies and a pioneer in its field in Europe.
The Finnish Cleantech Cluster, coordinated by the Lahti Science and Business Park, nominated The Switch and Eniram, in addition to eight other promising Finnish cleantech growth companies, for the competition. One objective of the activities is to offer the participating companies an opportunity to present themselves and to network in international forums.
Awards were presented in ten separate categories. More than 4 000 companies from around the world took part.
