Promotes five startups from Finland to showcase disruptive technologies in Silicon Valley
Tata Consultancy Services, the leading IT services, consulting and business solutions organisation, announced that it had launched its Co-Innovation ecosystem in Finland. As a first step in this initiative, the company promoted five Finnish startups – Leia Media, Canatu, Rightware, Glome, AGAIDI – to showcase their technologies during February 2014 in Silicon Valley (Santa Clara), USA. The companies were introduced to some of TCS’ leading clients across Banking, Insurance, and Media industries.
As part of the company’s global COINTM programme, this initative in Finland aims to leverage a network of startup companies, academic institutions, and TCS Innovation infrastructure, along with the TCS clients – so as to enable these clients to access the very latest technologies and create competitive advantages in their industries.
“Finland has an extremely strong culture for innovation, and our presence in Finland enables us to leverage this for our clients globally”, said Ruchikar Dalela, Country Manager – Finland, TCS. “The startups that we have showcased, have created disruptive technologies in many key business areas for our clients. Our endeavor is to harness these innovative solutions to help our clients stay ahead of the curve in their businesses”.
Antti Korhonen, CEO – Leia Media, one of the startups which participated, said “We are thankful for TCS for providing such a great global platform. The networking opportunities with the startups, academia and TCS customers were excellent. The serendipitous discussions brought a lot of additional value and the co-Innovation network gave us confidence about the possibility on creating a mutually beneficial business partnership between TCS and us.”
The launch of the initiative was facilitated by Helsinki Business Hub. “We are extremely pleased at the way TCS has focused on engaging with Finnish startups, since their participation in the SLUSH in November 2012 onwards. Helsinki Business Hub helped the TCS team with a series of discussions and engagements, in order to facilitate larger global opportunities for the talented startup companies in Finland”, says Micah Gland, CEO Helsinki Business Hub.
