Finnish game maker Supercell sells 51% stake for 1.1 billion euros ($1.5B) to Japanese SoftBank and games developer GungHo OnLine Entertainment.
According to Ilkka Paajanen, the CEO and Founder of Supercell, “the company that will end up owning 51% of Supercell is incorporated in Finland”. Paajanen explains in his blog that although company is going global, its roots and future are in Finland. “Our operations remain in Finland, our management team remains in Finland and in San Francisco, and we continue to pay taxes in Finland,” Paajanen writes.
