Helsinki Business Hub co-hosts a number of events around Slush
Slush is here again! The yearly event gathers together 15.000 entrepreneurs, investors, business influencers and media to Helsinki, Finland. The culmination is the two-day technology and startup festival on Wednesday and Thursday (Nov 11–12), at the Exhibition and Convention Center of Helsinki.
Around 250 funds and 1700 startups have registered to the sold-out gathering. For anyone seeking to pair investors and startups in Finland, Slush is without a doubt the most important event of the year. Marja-Liisa Niinikoski, the CEO of Helsinki Business Hub, praises the event as an impressive feat of communality and attractiveness.
“I have very high expectations for Slush this year. Among other things, we are waiting for our first deal from our new corporate venture program to go through,” Niinikoski says.
As always, Helsinki and neighboring Espoo hold a vast amount of side events around the main happening. For instance, healthcare will be in the focus on Tuesday, when Helsinki Business Hub is co-hosting a special event with GE Healthcare, GE Ventures, Reaktor, Eficode, and Nestlé Health Science.
“This year we have specifically focused with our partners to advance the health tech and life sciences track. There’s big potential in health care around the Helsinki area and huge interest among investors,” Niinikoski says.
Other Helsinki Business Hub linked events taking place around Slush include investor networking events Investor Day and VC Sauna, The Russian Edge VIP Evening for Russian startups and selected investors, MaaS Summit that brings high-profile smart mobility experts around the same table to discuss the future of mobility as well as a Canadian Embassy’s networking event for ICT companies from Canada and Finland.
We hope to see you at Slush. Stay tuned for our further reports from the events.
