Orbion Consulting seeks growth by acquiring parts of Pöyry Telecom’s business. The acquisition supports Orbion’s strategy to grow in the Nordic region as well as their objective to build a strong local presence in all of their market areas. The company aims to grow strongly also in Finland, and to obtain new customers among the Finnish teleoperators and energy companies. They have their Finnish headquarters in Vantaa in the capital region, close to their customers and the Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport – definitely an asset for an international company.
Orbion Consulting is one of the leading companies in the field of telecom and data communications consulting in the Nordic region. The acquisition will further strengthen their position, as it brings along a group of top experts in telecom consulting with excellent customer relations to their service.
“The acquisition has boosted our competitivity, especially since the customers and the references were part of the deal. This gives us speed right from the start”, says Mr. Frey Lindroos, CEO at Orbion Consulting Oy.
According to Mr. Lindroos, the inversion in Finland supports Orbion’s strategy to extend it’s activities and to grow in the Nordic region. Orbion already had a strong position in Sweden and in Norway, and Finland was a natural step to speed up their growth.
”We see a substantial customer and market potential for outsourced services as telecom operators and system vendors are focusing on their core business. We anticipate a substantial growth in the technical consultancy market within telecom and energy in Finland”, Mr. Lindroos concludes.
In addition to Orbion’s strategy, their customers played an important role in the decision to invest in Finland. Orbion wants to serve all of their Nordic customers near them. In Finland, the company has its headquarters in Vantaa, close to their customers headquarters and the Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport. In addition, the company has an office in Ylöjärvi and they are planning to open another one in Oulu.
At the moment Orbion has about 20 employees in Finland and they are expecting to hire more. This will not be a challenge: there is plenty of experienced personnel in Finland and in the capital region, Mr. Lindroos states.
