International VC Zone helps top-tier VCs access the best deal flow in the Helsinki region. For free.
There’s no such thing as a free lunch. Or is there? The service provided to its members by International VC Zone is a fresh exception to the rule. In all its simplicity VC Zone team aims to help growth capital investors outside of Finland connect with hi-tech, hi-growth and hi-ambition companies in hunt for funding. VC Zone also has means to offer access to comprehensive investment data covering the region, access to the ecosystem and institutional investors.
“Our services are provided through partnerships between public and private players dedicated to growth entrepreneurship. Therefore we have the advantage of providing the services free-of-charge,” explains Timo Felin, one of the business advisors at International VC Zone.
Important part of the service promise are investor visits organized in Finland. In 2014 VC Zone arranged some 130 meetings between foreign VCs and promising Finnish startups.
“We make sure that the VCs meet qualified companies during their visit. We set up one-on-one meetings and invite investors to be a part of high quality pitching and matchmaking events throughout the region,” Felin says.
The network currently has 26 members with the latest newcomers Notion Capital and Maxfield Capital joining VC Zone in May 2015. Since being founded in 2008, VC Zone members have made 39 investments to Finnish companies in rounds totalling over 230 million euros.
