Helsinki Region Welcome Weeks is a month full of events targeted for the growing number of internationals and internationally-minded people living in Greater Helsinki region. The aim is to open up opportunities the region has to offer while bringing the new and existing residents closer together.
Kicked off yesterday, 29 August, and running until 29 September, Helsinki Region Welcome Weeks serve as a platform for dialog, information, and networking between the internationals, locals, city officials, service providers, higher education institutions, employers and many others. The whole Greater Helsinki is filled with fun events under the themes arts &culture, career development, child caring, education, housing, language learning and sports.
During the Welcome Weeks you can visit one of Cafe Lingua’s informal gatherings to practise languages in small groups, or learn about possibilities to get familiar with Russian culture and art in Helsinki at Russian afternoon on September 4th. If you’ve just moved to Vantaa, Engage Yourself is a great event opening up the opportunities for activities outside work and studies. On 17 September TalentMatch goes China introduces international talent and local employers creating networks for the future. If you’re looking for educational options for your children or yourself in Espoo, pop by at Educational Information Fair on 28 September. Find a flatmate is ideal for students looking for a flat or a flatmate, and for active life in the capital region, take part in MetroSport, an open event to all students and staff in higher education institutions in the region.
