Golden Bridge, the China Finland Golden Bridge Innovation Centre, organized a three day investment and matchmaking event in Shenzhen, China in May. The aim of the event was to promote Golden Bridge to high tech companies in Shenzhen and to help Finnish IT companies to seek market entry and cooperation opportunities in the Shenzhen area.
Almost fifty companies participated in the match making event. About a third of the participating companies were Finnish IT and consultant companies and two third science and technology companies located in Shenzhen. Over forty one-on-one matchmaking meetings were arranged, including local market leader companies and well established high tech and technology companies.
Innovation Management Training was a great success
In addition to the business collaboration meetings, a half day Innovation Management Training was organised during the event. Innovation management and innovation strategies are clearly a topic that interests Chinese high tech companies, as nearly 200 participants attended the workshop, lead by Phillips Innohub Finland. The plan is to organize more training session and perhaps invite Chinese companies to come to Finland for a longer training period. That way they could at the same time learn about innovation management and the Finnish business environment.
Positive feedback encourages to plan the next steps
As the word bridge indicates, Golden Bridge Innovation Center aims to build up a bidirectional channel that helps Chinese hi-tech companies, research institutions and government innovation agencies to realize knowledge transfer and boost technology cooperation with Finland as well as guides Finnish companies to enter the Chinese markets.
The Shenzhen matchmaking event received positive feedback from both Finnish and Chinese participants. It was a good kick-start of further and deeper cooperation between both sides through the vehicle of Golden Bridge Innovation Center.
The event was arranged together with Golden Bridge local partners: Shen Zhen Nan Shan Incubator Center and Shenzhen Hi-Tech Industrial Park, with help from TEKES China, Finchi China and FECC.
