IoT solution provider Everynet has launched a new R&D center in the Greater Helsinki area. The company is already collaborating with the Helsinki Region Environmental Services Authority HSY and sees great cooperation opportunities with Finnish industry. Finland offers Everynet an excellent location for talent acquisition and accelerating product development.
Everynet concentrates on developing intellectual property and disruptive technologies like infrastructure sharing and Firmware-Over-The-Air (FOTA) updates. The company has office locations around the world including UK, US, Brazil, Italy and Taiwan – and now in Espoo, Finland, where its local R&D center currently employs more than 10 engineers.
Engineering talent and easy access to customers
“The high density of engineering talent was an important reason behind our decision to set up a design office here in Finland, as talents are not easy to find elsewhere,” says CTO Vitaly Kleban from Everynet.
“One of the great benefits of the Helsinki area is access to engineering talent and local customers that was facilitated by Helsinki Business Hub, NewCo, Maria01 and other acceleration initiatives. They helped us connect with the local R&D ecosystem and did a very nice job guiding us through the process of setting up an office here.”
Everynet is currently collaborating with the Helsinki Region Environmental Services Authority HSY and regional development organization Forum Virium, building a network solution for monitoring environmental services in the capital area. The solution can be used to provide various smart services for the city, including lighting control, waste management, asset tracking, measuring electricity and water use, environmental monitoring and even smart pest control.
“Our ready-to-use reference designs allow Everynet customers to detect tilted lamp-posts, identify defective lights and track the motion and frequency of pests with connected traps,” says Vitaly Kleban.
“I am very optimistic about Everynet’s future in Finland, and we’re continuing to hire new employees in the Espoo R&D design center.”
