It is now free for those who travel to Helsinki to use a free wireless net connection without having to use any usernames or passwords. The WLAN connection that was opened today on Helsinki Day will give people the opportunity to use a safe and secure internet connection from their smart devices. This connection is a quick help in the electronic search for information, whether looking for attractions, restaurants, hotels or transport connections.
This connection, known as Angry Birds Wi-Fi, has made Helsinki the world’s first capital in which the city centre’s internet traffic is based on a united wireless connection that is free of charge and does not require signing in. This is wireless history!
Angry Birds Wi-Fi coverage includes the areas popular amongst tourists, from the city centre’s Kamppi to Kauppatori and all the way to the Kaivopuisto beach. In future, the connection will cover even more areas of the city. The coverage area’s growth and progression can be followed on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Angry-Birds- Wi-Fi-Helsinki/
The wireless connection has been created by NextMesh in co-operation with Rovio.
