Finnish gaming industry received a welcomed addition to its vibrant ecosystem in the beginning of 2011 when the European Games Developer Federation (EGDF) relocated its headquarters from Malmö Sweden to Helsinki. The decision was strongly influenced by the rapid growth of the Finnish gaming industry.
Several foreign capital investments have been recently made in the region including Disney Interactive’s purchase of Helsinki-based games developer Rocket Pack. By locating its headquarters in Helsinki EDGF opens new development opportunities in the EU as well as in the global markets for Finnish gaming companies.
