
Patients using Better Doctor can search among one million doctors in the United States to find the most convenient professional for them.
The Finnish doctor ranking and search service Better Doctor has closed a Series A round of funding at 10 million dollars (7 million euros). The round was led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA), followed by Soft Tech VC and Lifeline Ventures.
The company plans to use the acquired funds to continue developing its service and expand its team.
Better Doctor is a web and mobile app that publishes individual doctors’ experience and qualifications. According to the company, their database contains the information of all the doctors in the United States, which amount to over one million practitioners. Patients are able to refine searches by specialty and to explore different reviews each professional has received.
Better Doctor was founded in San Francisco by Ari Tulla and Tapio Tolvanen,who had previously worked at Nokia. The company was named the most promising start-up at the Slush conference in Helsinki last year.
