Media and digital communications group Aegis Media acquired Irokeesi Oy, a Finnish experiential marketing agency. The aim of the acquisition is to expand Aegis’s service portfolio in Finland. According to the company, the investment is also an opportunity to bring on board a significant creative business from Helsinki and bring the benefit of their experience to Aegis’s clients.
Aegis Media wants to expand its service portfolio in Finland to build the company’s global offering. Experiential marketing is an important part of the group’s services, and Aegis has been looking for a company to complement its offering in Finland in this area.
– Acquisitions are a part of our growth strategy in Finland and in the Nordic region but the potential targets must fulfill strict quality and financial requirements. The experience and know-how of Irokeesi in experiential marketing convinced us, says Mr. Juha Herranen, CEO at Aegis Media Finland.
The field of marketing communications in Finland is very concentrated in the Helsinki area, due to availability of strong professionals. Short distances and good public transportation also support the activities of the companies operating in this field in Helsinki.
– Marketing communications has raised its profile in the Helsinki area, and we have a very dynamic community here. The success of the gaming industry, among other things, has helped to develop the field of marketing communications. We can benefit from this by recognizing the quality of our know-how and by promoting it internationally.
The acquisition of Irokeesi will accelerate the development of experiential marketing. With the acquisition, Irokeesi gains access to the global processes and tools of the global group without their own investment. On the other hand, Irokeesi offers the Aegis Media group new opportunities for even more creative experiential marketing.
– In Finland and in Helsinki, the costs of a marketing event are significantly smaller than in a larger market, which creates opportunities to organize a higher number of events. This brings routine to project management and also opportunities to experiment with bolder solutions, Mr. Herranen states.
