Google, the world renowned search engine has acquired the Helsinki-based 3D mobile technology company Drawelements.
The company, founded in 2008, offers tools for ensuring graphics drivers’ quality. Customers for the company produce or purchase components that allow for modern user interfaces and games. Drawelements then analyses their accuracy, performance, and stability, offering comparisons and solutions for any problems.
— Our products will be partially merged into Android devices for quality assurance, but we will continue to work with pretty much the same companies as before, said Kalle Raita, CEO of Drawelements, to Good News from Finland.
— Graphics processors and drivers are challenging to design and implement. When each device model has its own small errors, it makes the programmers’ work difficult. We solve this problem by offering GPU designers the tools to find errors in the design stage, Raita explains.
Drawelements currently employs ten people. Further information about the unification with Google cannot yet be made public, as the deal is still in process.
Earlier this year, the Finnish companies Moves and Pryte were purchased by Facebook.
